Nestled within the volcanic region of the Stony Rises on the ancestral lands of the Eastern Maar Nation people, you’ll find the Bush Loft.
This charming structure, crafted using sedimentary basalt rock sourced from the local landscape shaped by the eruption of Mt Porndon, offers a bright and airy A-frame loft—an inviting bohemian sanctuary for relaxation, rejuvenation, and connection.
Adjacent to the loft, you’ll find a user-friendly eco-friendly compost toilet and a convenient hand basin.
Additionally, we provide a well-equipped shared bush kitchen, complete with gas burners, cooking pots and pans, dinnerware and utensils, cooking oil, salt and pepper, a selection of herbal teas, and an eski (cooler) for your convenience (please bring your own ice). The outdoor space offers a delightful setting for alfresco dining, along with a bush bar that boasts a stunning view. A communal hot shower is also available.
Step into the shared outdoor area, where you’ll discover a cozy fire pit, comfortable seating, relaxing hammocks, and enchanting decorative lighting that sets the stage for a magical and romantic atmosphere. Here, you can bask in the beauty of the starry night sky without any interference from urban streetlights—only the twinkling stars above!
The surrounding landscape, with its undulating terrain and remnants of native bushland, provides a habitat for a diverse and thriving population of native animals and birds. Take a leisurely 5km loop walk, perfect for spotting wildlife along the way—a popular activity among our guests. Additionally, guests often indulge in guided nocturnal walks with torchlights to explore the captivating nightlife of the area. For day trips, guests can embark on adventures to the magnificent beaches of the Great Ocean Road, Otways National Park, Otway Harvest Trail, Twelve Apostles, mountains, waterfalls, and local crater lakes for some fishing—an array of experiences cherished by our guests.
